The OPM automatic machine is designed to make large/small wedges and stirrup of different lengths for formwork in construction. A productivity of about 6/8 pcs/min is expected for the stirrup and about 100/pcs for the wedges.

The machine compliant with CE regulations is made up of an electronic rectifier / advancement unit, an hydraulic working unit, a shape cutting mold for the stirrup, a bending mold for stirrup, a hydraulic power unit, an electrical panel, a motorized ejector, a conveyor belt for wedges evacuation, a sensor system for checking the correct functioning, and a PLC with software to manage and optimize the work process. Where required, the machine can be equipped with suitable dies for large and small wedges

From the feasibility study carried out, the work sequence is divided as follows:

The coil is loaded on a motorized unwinder, the tape then passes through the centering system that allows the tape to be worked with precision. The tape is then processed by the hydraulic unit which produces large / small specular wedges, thus obtaining two pieces per molding cycle. The production of wedges and stirrup is not simultaneous, so it is necessary to initially establish the type of product to be made. For the production of stirrup, the tape is processed by the hydraulic unit which cuts the tape into the shape, and is subsequently folded and ejected onto the appropriate product collection brackets. To produce the wedges, the strip is processed by the hydraulic unit, which produces large/small mirror wedges, resulting in two pieces per moulding cycle.

The whole working process is controlled and managed by a PLC that allows you to control all the operations of the machine and to detect faults or malfunctions automatically and above all to start the automated processing.

The machine integrates a specially created electrical panel that allows you to centralize all electrical peripherals by concentrating the power and control units in a single dedicated cabinet. This allows easy maintenance and immediate diagnostics in case of technical intervention.

The brain of the machine is the PLC that deals with the management and optimization of production, interfacing and connecting the various parts of the machine and the moving parts, as well as managing the active safety devices and detection sensors. To proceed with production it is necessary to set the technical features of the product on the PLC, i.e. establish the type of product to be made, the length, and the quantity to be produced. Once the data has been set on the PLC, by pressing the START button, the production starts and proceeds automatically starting from the coil.

Production data is stored in real time, so if the tape runs out, the machine stops and communicates the emergency, and when production is resumed, it is restored from the last piece produced and thus completes the production cycle set previously.

The system is equipped with an emergency button to block the machine at any time. The active and passive safety devices ensure that the operator is protected during processing by certifying the CE machine.
